This year Carers Week will run from 6-12 June 2016. And this year the organisers are celebrating the 22nd year of the event.
Over the course of this special week you can do your bit to show your support for the 6 million carers currently helping those in need in the UK.
The week is a partnership of nine charities: Age UK, Carers UK, Counsel & Care, Crossroads Care, Dementia UK, Macmillan Cancer Support, MS Society, Parkinson’s UK, and The Princess Royal Trust for Carers. The group was first formed in 2001 and now holds over 5000 events across the UK throughout Carers Week each year!
Throughout Carers Week the group will aim to recognise the contribution carers make to local communities, lobby MPs and let carers know about the help and support that can be offered to them.
There are lots of ways to get involved with this special week, whether you want to take part in a local event or organise something special of your own.
At the Carers Week website you can find out loads more about organising events and how you can get as much publicity as possible for your local awareness and fundraising campaigns!
