The aim of Arthritis Care Awareness Week is to help and educate people in a relaxed environment. Not so it feels like a lesson, but more a learning curve you can travel at your own pace through a range of activities.
Family, friends and sufferers themselves are all touched by athritis in different ways.
And there is a lot to get clued up on. For example there are 200 types of arthritis - which then get split into three seperate categories of their own!
There is also ongoing athritis research and campaigns to help people manage the condition better and easier. For more information, take a look at the eight year clinical trial.
Of course there are ways of easing the pain of arthritis right now. For example, prescribed arthritis medication will help reduce soreness and inflammation.
Another way of doing this is through athritis exercises; which helps loosen stiff joints, improve flexibility and make you feel better all round!
Exercise might be the last thing you feel like doing but the effects will be really beneficial. So make a start and 'Amble for arthritis' this May in one of six places in the UK.
Some of the other activities offered will include a relaxtion corner, tai-chi, sample sessions and a chance for a one-on-one chat with professionals. Sounds good, eh?
