Armed Forces Day Armed Forces Day Armed Forces Day

On 25 June 2016 it’s Armed Forces Day.

Held each year, this is your chance to show your support for the armed forces, who put their lives on the line for our country every day.

Veterans and cadets alike will be celebrated within local communities and there are lots of ways to show your support!

The day supports not only the British Army, but the Royal Navy and Royal Air Forces, too.

Last year the main national event was held in Guildford and this year the celebrations will be centred in Cleethorpes, North East Lincolnshire.  The celebrations during the weekend will include parades by the Army, Royal Navy, Royal Air Force and military bands.  There will also be parties and concerts.

So there will be something for everyone!

Again, as in previous years there will be all kinds of events held by different armed forces networks and groups across the UK.  From wartime weekends to badge presentations and gala evenings, there’s lots going on.

If you want to show your support for our troops and the brave men and women serving in our armed forces right right now you can organise your own event too.

The programme of events is currently being finalised but keep visiting the Armed Forces Day website to find out everything you need to know about hosting an event and getting involved.

You can also help support the event by buying flags, bunting and other items, just visit the official website for more information.
